I’m so excited to share with you my first salt cave experience! I’ve had a pretty rough past few weeks and my stress level
was is at an all-time high. My mom suggested that her and I go to the salt cave to relax and detox. I have to say – I’m not really into all the crystals/salt lamps/stones/beads like she is but I was willing to try, literally, anything to de-stress.
The place we visited was Rising Sun Holistic Choices in Canton, OH. As soon as we walked inside, the atmosphere was calming and serene. We stepped into a foyer area to remove our shoes and were given little booties to put on. Also, there is a strict ‘no phones allowed’ policy so they were locked up in a cabinet outside of our room. I had to pep-talk myself with “Ok – I can do this for an hour”. We stepped into the darkened cave with our booties in tow and immediately we were standing on a ground of over 35,000 finely ground salts AND made up of 84 different kinds of pure mineral Himalayan salt! 84 kinds even exist?! I found out that your body is made up of the same 84 minerals (plus water) and when these things are in balance and perfect harmony, your body is in the most relaxed and refreshed state it can be. The salt air releases negative ions to balance out the positive ones already circulating in the air around you so even just breathing in the salt inside the cave can be so beneficial for people with allergies, arthritis, skin infections, digestive problems, snoring, and immune system issues. What in the world! This whole time and nobody ever told me about this?! Thanks, guys…
After my first experience, do I recommend it? 100% YES! Do yourself a favor and visit a salt cave to refresh and rejuvenate your mind and soul. Laying on a yoga mat on a salted ground while listening to soft music and trickling water for an hour was the most relaxed I’ve been in months.
This place really is ‘Good Vibes Only’
