There are a few essentials that I keep in my bag when I travel (which is pretty dang often). I for sure need:
- a good face moisturizer
- a sleep mask
- a book (that I inevitably never read)
- an empty water bottle
- extra strength Tylenol
- my external battery
Flying internationally and across the country on flights that are hours long really dry my skin out. I obviously try to stay as hydrated as I can (while making the most limited use of an airplane restroom) by bringing an empty water bottle with me. Nearly every airport I’ve been in has self-filling water stations and it’s the first thing I hit after I breeze past security. But somehow, I end up with slightly chapped lips, dry skin, and/or a minor headache almost every time I fly. This is why I keep a good face moisturizer in my purse or carry-on while traveling.
Summer Fridays just recently launched and I was too excited to give it a whirl. At first when I tried it at home, my first impression was that I was putting toothpaste on my face because of the immediate minty smell. I didn’t hate that – I love a fresh mint scent! The formula is rich and super creamy and soaks in almost immediately. I noticed my skin felt and looked dewy a few minutes after applying. Packed with ingredients like green tea, chestnut oil, peppermint oil, orange peel oil, cucumber extract, and shea butter – how could you not be doing something wonderful for your skin?! I typically use this moisturizer midway through a long flight (without wiping any excess off) and then once again when I get to my hotel and wash my face before hitting the city.
My final thoughts: Love. Summer Fridays delivers. Like, really delivers. It packs a punch in a small 2.25 oz. tube. My face is refreshed, invigorated, supple, and bouncy. It leaves a smooth velvety finish and soaks in immediately. It’s the perfect size so that TSA can’t swipe it and it can be used as either a face mask or a moisturizer – I adore a double duty product.
