There are tons of fashion weeks that happen all over the world all year long. I have been lucky enough to attend a few and my most recent one was Nashville Fashion Week. Anybody who knows me knows I’m obsessed with Nashville inside and out. I fly there atleast twice a year – once every spring for Fashion Week and the other just for play.
I made a list of essentials to pack for ANY fashion week you may be attending that can be really helpful. I’m a carry-on traveler only so everything in this list is small, light, and perfectly packable.
Which ones are your faves?!
If you plan on posting outfit photos, you will absolutely need a great camera or at the very least – an iPhone with a quality camera in it. I would highly recommend leaving a bulky DSLR camera behind while attending shows and keeping your cell camera easily accessible at all times. DSLRs are absolutely fantastic BUT can take up so much room and you’ll likely have your hands otherwise full while at shows – plus you won’t have to worry about where to store it while you’re out.
Don’t forget to bring an external phone battery along! It will save you so much headache you’re bound to have when you see that little battery icon go from green to red and they easily slide into even a small clutch. Also, if remembering an extra battery to take isn’t your thing – invest in a smart charging phone case like one from either Apple or Mophie.
You will be meeting so many new faces and having to remember all those names can get real confusing real quick. Keep a small pack of business cards with you that have your contact information as well as social media handles on them. Don’t be afraid to ask for them either! Collect them from people you may want to connect with later and then enter all their information in your phone.
Depending on what city you are attending a fashion show in – there can be a lot of walking involved, obviously. Don’t be afraid to pack a pair of flats in a large enough purse with you (or even some that are really flexible). You can wear your heels to the shows and do a quick change outside or in an Uber when you’re between shows.
I always keep some sort of KIND bars with me in my bag at all times – even when I’m NOT going to fashion shows. You won’t always have time for a full meal and I’m not a fast food gal so I make it a priority to pack a couple light snacks. Also a fan of almonds and peanut butter to-go packs – they hold off hunger for a while until you get back to your hotel or to a restaurant.
